A Community for Mortgage Loan Officers

Has anyone been profitable over time buying Zillow's lender leads? I like that they don't sell the same lead to multiple lenders like some companies, but I've had a tough time making the numbers work. Seems like I'm always around break even, and just working for free basically.

I haven't bought leads from Zillow but I've had luck comarketing with realtors on Realtor.com. The leads suck, but I'm better than breakeven with the one realtor I'm doing it with right now. He hustles though, I'd imagine not all realtors could be profitable with it.

I’ve spent $10,000 with Zillow over 6 months and barely broke even, felt like I was working for free. I did build a strong realtor relationship with one connection I made, so got a few more deals from him, so I guess better than break even…

Paid leads are all the same; it's possible to be profitable, but your work/reward ratio will never come close to building referral partner relationships. Personally I don't pay for leads.
